2026 Saddle Up Fun - Super Success
Saddle Up for Fun(d)raising We Missed Our Goal... By About $1,200!
IDAHO CITY — Organizers of the recent Saddle Up for Fun(d)raising event at Cowboy Campground had hoped to raise funds for Boise County Search & Rescue and for the Ray Robison Community Hall remodel at their June - Saddle for Fun event.
Initial discussions set a goal of $900. As excitement for the event grew, organizers raised their expectations to $1,500. By the end of the weekend, however, the community had other plans. Then one of our board members, Maegan Ferguson, with the help of her realtor, Amanda Prescott, AP Realty, upped the game, and we had a wonderful Blackstone Grill to raffle off.
Thanks to generous donations from Boise County locals, ie. Clear Creek Lodge, Sweet Cheeks Spa, Dumpster Rental, Coffee Box, Harley’s Pub and many other silent auction items the auction bidding, raffle participation, Cowboy Breakfast attendees, riders, and community supporters, the event raised an impressive $2,110 for BCS&R, and $555 for the Ray Robison Hall.
The fundraiser brought together volunteers, horse enthusiasts, local residents, and visitors for a weekend of riding, good food, entertainment, and community spirit. Funds raised will help support the dedicated volunteers of Boise County Search & Rescue, who donate countless hours each year responding to emergencies and assisting residents and visitors throughout the county.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the many businesses and individuals who donated auction items, purchased raffle tickets, and participated in the event. Special recognition was also given to the volunteers who spent hours preparing meals, organizing activities, managing the event before and during, setting up and cleaning up, and ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
The event demonstrated once again the generosity of the Boise County community and its willingness to support local causes. While organizers may have underestimated the community's enthusiasm, they are grateful for the outcome.
"We missed our fundraising goal," one organizer joked. "We just happened to miss it by about $1,200."
The success of the fundraiser serves as a reminder that when neighbors come together to support a worthy cause, remarkable things can happen.
The Organizers - Legacy Park Riders and Legacy Park Trust @ Cowboy Campground extend their sincere thanks to Boise County Search & Rescue, Ashley Marie Elliott for their donations & time, volunteers, donors, sponsors, participants, and everyone who helped make the weekend a memorable and successful event.
Your support is crucial to the success of our 2026 event.
Please consider donating a prize or silent auction item.
